An eight-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car in a quiet cul-de-sac.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Woodland View, Dilton Marsh, Wiltshire, at 4.30pm yesterday.
The incident involved a vehicle and a pedestrian – a boy aged 8.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was scrambled alongside other 999 responders, but despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead.
His family have been informed and is being supported by a specialist officer.
‘Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time’, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.
They added: ‘A man in his 30s is being interviewed, as is usual in these circumstances.
‘Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team.’
