A British man has died after plunging from the sixth floor of a building in the Majorcan capital Palma in front of horrified tourists.
Police are investigating the incident after the alarm was raised around 2pm today.
It was not immediately clear today if the 64-year-old was resident in Majorca or a holidaymaker.
The ongoing probe is being led by a Spanish National Police Homicide unit, although there is no suggestion at this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.
A well-placed source said his death wasn’t being treated as a crime at this stage although investigators were still awaiting the results of an autopsy.
A witness is said to have told cops the man plunged from the skylight of a car park in the centre of Palma, near the well-known Saratoga Hotel.
Several tourists at the hotel are said to have witnessed the fall.
Emergency responders were unable to do anything to save the Brit.
On Tuesday night a British teenager was rushed to hospital ‘seriously injured’ after falling from the first floor of a property in Majorca.
The 15-year-old girl was stabilised at the scene before being taken to Son Espases Hospital in Palma.
The incident happened in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar near the Love Island villa in the north-east of Majorca.
A code red is said to have been activated because of the extent of the youngster’s injuries.
