Yobe state governor Mai Mala Buni on Tuesday suspended the newly elected chairman of Machina Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Idrissa Mai Bukar Machina, with immediate effect over alleged misconduct and insubordination.
In a statement made available to journalists in Damaturu by the press secretary to Yobe SSG, Shuaibu Abdullahi, said the governor based on the exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 2 of the Local Government Law (as amended) 2019, “has approved the suspension of the Chairman of Machina Local Gcvernment Council Hon. Idrissa Mai Bukar Machina.”
The governor has also directed the suspended chairman to hand over affairs of the Local Government Council to the Vice Chairman pending further directives.
