Cara Delevingne has recalled the embarrassing moment she came face-to-face with a rock icon… and had no idea who he was.
The model, actress and socialite, 31, had been backstage at Glastonbury in 2022 with her girlfriend, Leah Mason.
While there, they ran into a well-known American singer. Well known by almost everyone, that is…
As he departed, Cara had no idea that she had just crossed paths with none other than American rock icon Bruce Springsteen.
Bruce, now 74, had been attending that year’s Glastonbury festival, where he made an appearance during former Beatles star Paul McCartney’s set.
Not that clueless Cara had any idea until after she’d already crossed paths with rock royalty.
‘We teach each other so many things,’ Cara said in a recent interview with The Sunday Times.
‘Two years ago we were backstage at Glastonbury and took a photo with this guy. I said to Leah afterwards: “Who was that?”‘ she revealed.
‘She was like “What? That’s Bruce Springsteen!” I had no idea what he looked like. I think that’s blasphemy,’ Cara said, of the Born in the USA and Dancing in the Dark star.
Cara and Leah – otherwise known as Minke – were first pictured together in January 2023 – making headlines after being spotted kissing in the stands together at Wimbledon in July of last year.
After making their relationship Instagram official in June 2024, the pair revealed that they had been together for two years.
‘2 years baby. Feels like yesterday and forever ago. I can’t remember what life was like without your love, and I never want to know,’ Minke wrote in a social media post at the time.
The couple have known each other for 20 years, after first meeting in boarding school.
They later reconnected at a party in 2022, and began dating not long afterwards.
Singer Minke originally started out as a blues singer, before evolving her style to incorporate sounds of indie pop, rock and R&B.
In the years since her encounter with Bruce, Cara has returned to Glastonbury – most recently with pal Anya Taylor-Joy.
Cara and the Furiosa star, 28, were pictured together at this year’s festival, walking through Worthy Farm with their arms linked.
They were later seen watching one of the performances from the crowd, dressed for the summer sun in short-sleeved tops and shorts.
The pair have grow close over recent years, with Cara and Minke both attending Amya’s wedding to musician Malcolm McRae in Venice last year.
