Chelsea are expecting there to be much interest in Trevoh Chalobah this summer and have put a £25million price tag on their in-form star.

It was expected that Chalobah would leave Stamford Bridge last summer only for a £50m move to Bayern Munich to fall through, while the defender also turned down the chance to sign for Nottingham Forest.

He was heavily linked with a transfer in January but again nothing materialised, however since then the 24-year-old has been catching the eye since returning to action following a lengthy thigh injury.

He only made his first appearance of the season in February, but the Blues lost just three of the 17 games across all competitions he took part in, winning nine of the 13 he started.

This form helped Mauricio Pochettino’s side recover to finish sixth in the Premier League and qualify for Europe.

Nevertheless, Chelsea will listen to offers for Chalobah and fellow homegrown stars like Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen as they look to balance the books.

Having spent a £1billion since Todd Boehly’s takeover, the club are in danger of breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules and any money made from their sale would count as pure profit.

The Telegraph report that the Blues have lowered their valuation of Chalobah, who can play at centre-back or right-back, to £25m but Bayern are no longer keen having signed Eric Dier in January.

However, Tottenham have maintained their interest and it is known that Ange Postecoglou wants another centre-back this summer, preferably one who could also fill-in at full-back if needed.

It is said that the player has little interest in leaving his boyhood club, and with a contract that runs until 2028, it may be hard for Chelsea to move him on.

But with Wesley Fofana and Reece James back from injury, Chalobah has a tough task to remain high in the pecking order, with competition from the likes of Malo Gusto, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill.
