Conor Maynard has raised eyebrows and left fans baffled with his first post after the news that The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton has given birth to their daughter.

Charlotte, who appeared on the second season of Claudia Winkleman’s BBC murder mystery gameshow and lost out to Traitor Harry Clark, revealed that Conor was the father of her child earlier this year.

She’d initially kept details about her baby’s father under wraps, before saying she didn’t want her daughter Penelope to be ‘a dirty secret’ and wouldn’t be hiding it from her.

Charlotte also revealed that Conor would not be raising the baby with her, and was ‘prepared to do this alone’.

Singer Conor has not publicly addressed the news of being a dad, or spoken out about his former relationship with Charlotte, however, he’s now posted on social media for the first time since Penelope was born.

The 31-year-old shared a clip of his cover of Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather.

‘I’ll love you till the day that I…’ he captioned the video.

Viewers were more distracted by the fact he hasn’t yet addressed the news of his daughter.

‘Are you singing this to your new born child or…?’ @sarahlhil wrote.

‘I really hope you don’t break this little girls heart with you choice you’ve made, if you don’t want a kid then keep it in your pants from now on that’s all I’ll say causes that little girl deserved more,’ @xo.haych.xo said.

Charlotte announced she’d given birth to her ‘miracle’ baby on October 18, after a difficult pregnancy where she had suffered from an ‘exceptionally painful and extremely debilitating’ condition and was hospitalised.

She said: ‘Princess Penelope has arrived and we have been enjoying our ‘Penelope bubble’ so much,I am going to be off the radar for a little longer, whilst I enjoy these magical moments with my precious girl!!

‘Thank you to all that have checked in to make sure I am ok!! 💗 my heart is full xx’

In an exclusive interview with Metro earlier this year, Charlotte revealed that she’d met Conor at a nightclub on the night of the final episode of The Traitors airing with winner Harry – who is dating Conor’s younger sister Anna – involved in setting them up together.

‘I’m doing this on my own. I don’t need him. I don’t need his money. I would only want him involved if he wanted to be,’ Charlotte told us.

She said that Conor was initially ‘lovely’ about the news that she was expectingwhen she first told him, however, over time, she felt his tone change and progressive conversations worsened, in Charlotte’s opinion, as Conor expressed that he was not ready to be a dad.

‘‘I’m prepared to do this alone, but I’m not prepared to have my daughter have to grow up and not be able to say who her father is, or should I say, birth father, or hide it from her,’ Charlotte said.

She went on: ‘She deserves to know where she comes from. I’m not a secret, she’s not a dirty secret. I won’t be silenced.’

‘I am standing up for myself regardless of if it comes back to me. I just can’t do this be quiet, and shut up anymore.’

Metro has approached Conor’s reps for comment.

The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
