But if you were hoping for some good news about the cafe owner’s future then I’m afraid I have to be the bearer of bad news, with more upset on the way for him.
Roy is deflated next week when Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) stops by the prison to inform him that the police have had no luck in tracing Lauren’s necklace.
Not very good at this, are they?
Roy had hoped that the necklace in question would prove to be the key to tracking down Lauren’s missing boyfriend, who he believes was pivotal in her disappearance.
And speaking of solving the crime, a reconstruction of Lauren’s vanishing gets underway at the precinct, with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) in attendance.
Bethany, however, spots someone who she believes to be paedophile Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) and her worst fears are confirmed when DS Swain (Vicky Myers) breaks the news that the vile criminal was released from jail months ago!
Bethany finds out that Nathan is working at a construction site near the precinct and, upon confronting her abuser, she accuses him of murdering Lauren.
But will her theory prove correct? And if so, will suffering Roy finally be released from jail?
Elsewhere on the Street, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) feels a panic attack coming on while at the flat and takes one of Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) benzo pills, which he stumbled upon earlier.
The teen falls unconscious – but will he be okay?
It’s an action-packed week on the cobbles – one not to be missed!
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday May 6 and Friday May 10 at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
