With the expertise of Fanatec soon to be under its belt, Corsair may lap its competitors in the racing sim space with ease. Given the recency of its acquisition, announced in May, the company understandably isn’t ready to emerge from from the proverbial pits and hit the market just yet. However, it has given us a glimpse at its plans for the future via a prototype at Computex.

Stepping inside the Corsair racing sim prototype, there’s plenty of eye-candy to enjoy. Its white 50mm tubular steel frame is both striking and stable, making us feel flash and securely strapped in as we sink into the cockpit. The seat is adjustable, with minimal tooling, recommended for those between 5’0 and 6’6, and of course styling typical of a track car.

Corsair hopes to separate its racing sim cockpit from alternatives through modularity and smart cable management. The concept on show features optional accessories that should enhance the base kit, such as an inverted pedal and direct drive mounts, as well as a PC tray. Naturally, the design of peripheral mounts has Elgato products in mind, like Facecam and Stream Deck, making for a seamless streaming setup too.

The rig also includes a monitor mount, with support for ultrawide displays. Corsair demos its rig with its new Xeneon 34WQHD240-C ultrawide display, whose white colour scheme slides in nicely with the rest of the rig’s aesthetic. Of course, the entire setup looks all the better with three of the screens running at once, as we experienced.

We expect to see a more concrete product emerge from Corsair later this year. Given this is a concept, there’s understandably no price tag to speak of for now. However, we expect this to be an expensive bit of kit (all the more so with its accessories in tow).
