Countryfile viewers have been left expressing their concern after spotting a mark on Adam Henson’s face.
The 58-year-old stars on the BBC One farming show alongside Margherita Taylor and Matt Baker, but in a recent episode, he sparked some worry over his appearance.
Adam was reporting on a deadly virus which could affect his own flock of sheep during lambing season, talking about the ‘stressful’ time.
He said: ‘This year there has been an added worry and concern for sheep farmers, including myself.’
After discovering that some of his sheep had been effected, including one born stillborn with deformed feet, Adam admitted his ‘heart sunk’, and he was left worrying about the mental and financial impacts.
‘We’ve only had one so far, but the worry hasn’t gone away,’ he went on.
However, as he was talking about the disease, viewers were more worried about Adam’s appearance, taking to X to share their concerns.
The farmer appeared to have a red scratch running along his right cheek down to his jaw.
Viewer Sue wrote: ‘Adam looks like he’s developed a birth mark on his right cheek since his last appearance! Although there is a bit of a continuity issue with it tonight!’
X user Mr Signals added: ‘Has Adam been kicked in the face by a rare breed.’
Carol said: ‘I missed the start if today’s programme what has poor Adam done to his face.’
‘Hope you are okay Adam. The mark on your face, I would think was animal inflicted. Hope you are otherwise well though,’ Andy penned.
A farmer by trade, Adam, who runs the Cotswold Farm Park, broke into TV in 2001 with a regular presenting position on Countryfile, and has since become an author of several books.
He has also co-hosted BBC’s Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen along with Nigel Slater and has appeared on other shows including Farming Today and Gardener’s World, as well as working on the likes of BBC Radio 4’s On Your Farm and Farming Today.
This comes after Adam’s co-star Matt revealed he had been injured, and was still dealing with the side-effects.
The 46-year-old, who rose to fame on Blue Peter, is on longer ‘able to bend forward’ after slipping a disc in his back during pantomime rehearsals.
He said: ‘I’ve injured my back. I can’t tell you how upsetting it is as an ex-gymnast, not to be able to bend forward.’
He joked that chatting about various aches and pains is a sign of his age, before explaining exactly how his injury occurred.
‘‘I did my back in. I was doing a panto. I was doing Goldilocks and the Three Bears and we were practising with the stunt chairs, and the chair wasn’t set correctly and bang!’ Matt went on.
‘I went down on my coccyx and it turns out I slipped a disc in my back.’
Although the TV veteran did try to get himself on the mend with training and rehab, he now needs to have injections for pain relief.
Metro.co.uk has approached the BBC and Adam’s reps for comment.
Countryfile is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
