This article contains spoilers from an episode of EastEnders that hasn’t aired on BBC One yet, but is available to view on BBC iPlayer.

Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) is back to his wicked ways and has exacted revenge on the rest of his family.

Earlier this week, the evil businessman returned to Albert Square to hand ex-wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) their divorce documents. It soon became clear that he had an ulterior motive though.

After bumping into his granddaughter Avani (Aaliyah James), he convinced her to allow him to come back to No. 41 so he could announce his news – he’s terminally ill.

Understandably, the family struggled to process or believe the news, and it was only when he was hospitalised that they realised that, for once, he was telling the truth.

In today’s (29th May) instalment, he sat alone in the café and his unease was noticed by Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris).

Meanwhile, back at No. 41, Suki asked the Panesar’s outright whether they should welcome him back into their lives, and after a vote, they decided against it.

Nish became irritated at their unwillingness to forgive, and after telling them his planned bucket list of holidays, got down on his knees and sobbed into son Ravi’s (Aaron Thiara) hands.

Conflicted between his children’s wishes and his own better judgement, Ravi headed to Walford East to let off some steam and bumped into Zack Hudson (James Farrar) in the kitchen.

Zack tried to talk him round, saying that if he was ever in the same situation as Nish, he would hope that his children would support him.

However, it wasn’t long before Nish’s true colours began to show, and Bernie noticed a ‘for sale’ sign hung up outside of the café.

Ravi was gobsmacked to see Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Ian (Adam Woodyatt) proudly stood outside, having agreed to sign on the dotted line and buy the eatery back – for £1.

Suki charged over, and fumed at him for selling their children’s inheritance so brazenly. Nish asserted that as a result of his family brushing them off in his dying days, it had prompted him to rewrite his will – with everything going to the Gurdwara.

A devastating blow!
