Eamonn Holmes was seen clutching a walking frame on an outing shortly after the news of his divorce from Ruth Langsford.
In May this year, almost a month ago, it was confirmed that Eamonn and Ruth, both 64, were separating after 14 years of marriage and more than 20 years together.
Their spokesperson confirmed the news of their split, saying in a statement: ‘Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.’
Shortly afterwards, Eamonn addressed their break-up on his GB News show, telling his viewers: ‘I’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.’
At the time, the former This Morning presenter appeared ‘reluctant’ to publicly address their separation, looking down during his on-camera statement, and swiftly moving onto another topic of conversation.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Ruth is taking a break from her presenting role on ITV’s Loose Women, with a source claiming that she feels ‘hurt’ in the aftermath of the split.
In new photos, Eamonn has been seen walking with the help of a frame, with another man appearing to help him with an arm linked with the TV personality.
The broadcaster was wearing a dark blue T-shirt and black trousers during the outing to the barber, sporting a shorter haircut as he left using the walking apparatus.
Eamonn has been open about suffering from chronic pain, having suffered from back issues for several years.
He slipped three discs in his back in 2021, before losing ‘full mobility’ after he underwent spinal surgery the following year in an effort to address the persistent issues he was experiencing.
‘I get resentful that I’m not the way I used to be but I just get on with it,’ he previously told The Mirror.
‘I work hard at trying to walk. It’s very hard to get through a normal day but I have help from people around me.’
Before their break-up was announced, Ruth opened up about the ‘testing time’ she and Eamonn had been having due to her husband’s health struggles.
Ruth addressed his health while speaking to Woman’s Weekly, saying: ‘I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope.
‘He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100% right.
‘With any care situation – and there are millions of carers in this country – it isn’t always easy. It’s testing but we manage as a family.’
