Eamonn Holmes has shared the latest steps in his recovery, and fans have praised the GB News presenter for his ‘mental resilience’.

The 64-year-old’s chronic pain started when he slipped three discs in 2021 and underwent spinal surgery the following year.

Eamonn, who has recently split from Loose Women star Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage, then suffered a major setback when he fell down the stairs.

The TV star has been using a walking frame and crutches to aid his mobility, then two weeks ago, he explained standing up was still difficult for him.

Alongside, the snap posted on Instagram he added to his 800,000 followers that his next aim was to walk, and a piece of machinery is now helping him to reach that goal.

In the latest health update, Eamonn proudly showed off a new device that is enabling him to take steps more easily again.

‘This is my latest exploit. This is what is called an anti-gravity treadmill,’ he explained while putting the machine to use.’

Explaining how it works, he said: ‘The reason it’s called anti-gravity is you’ll see down here, I’m being supported by quite a big balloon. The balloon holds my weight.

‘What it does is the machine, I can walk and run in this. It helps my legs and body remember what it was like to move like this before things went wrong.

‘This gives me a certain amount of freedom and the idea is that I build up muscle memory and things will happen, hopefully in the future.

‘For the moment, I’ll do half an hour on this, cheers,’ he concluded.
