EastEnders fans might be hoping for a full-blown reunion for Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) following their recent kiss, but a serious curveball is about to enter the chat – one Phil is going to be too happy about either.
Following the arrival of Stevie Mitchell’s (Alan Ford)’s secret second family in Walford, scenes set to air next week will see one of them make a move on our Shazza.
The week begins with a brewing rivalry between Phil and Stevie’s son Teddy (Roland Manookian), who is having a hard time accepting long-lost relative Phil as the head of the family.
However, the pair begin to bond after a Mitchell family lock-in at The Boxing Den is arranged, and their newfound friendship leaves Billy (Perry Fenwick) perturbed.
The duo also find themselves on the wrong side of Sharon by leaving the gym in a state following the lock-in.
But later on, Teddy turns on the charm and tries to win Sharon round by inviting her for a drink.
Accepting the invite, Teddy and Sharon’s flirting raises eyebrows from Stevie, who wisely advises him not to mess with Phil’s ex-wife.
His words fail to land, however, as Teddy then tries to convince Sharon to stay for another drink.
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw teased that the arrival of Teddy and his sons Harry and Barney would be ‘unwelcome surprise’ for Phil, suggesting Teddy’s sudden bond with him might not be genuine.
And with Phil holding out hope of rekindling his relationship with Sharon, we can’t imagine his cousin’s advances on his ex are going to go down well…
EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 July at 7.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
