EastEnders star Max Bowden has urged people to check in on their friends following some heartbreaking losses.

The actor is best known for playing Ben Mitchell in the BBC One soap. In recent episodes, it was confirmed his exit storyline would involve Ben being arrested after committing fraud while in America.

As well as starring in the 30th-anniversary production of Birdsong for his next job, Max has revealed to fans he’s also taking part in another project that is ‘close’ to his heart.

Sharing a picture in a car, Max wrote ‘Up and out early this morning filming something mega important and close to my heart’.

‘Will keep ya posted! Have an amazing day. Check in with one of your friends today, tell them you love them’.

Max lost a number of friends in 2021including best mate Maxwell. He often shares powerful messages on his social media and at the start of the year, he was asked by poet Hussain Manawer to read out one of his poems to camera, titled ‘You May Have Died, But You Are Still Alive’

Recently, to mark an end to his time in EastEnders, Max shared an emotional goodbye message on his social media.

Alongside a promo picture of Ben outside the Arches, Max thanked fans for embracing his version of Ben, having been the sixth actor to take on the role.

‘Well guys It’s that time!’, he penned.

He added that Ben Mitchell 6.0 was ‘over and out’, before bidding EastEnders farewell and assuring his castmates that he would miss them.
