Enermax has showcased a beastly AIO during Computex. This liquid cooler is capable of handling nearly a 1kW CPU, all while maintaining good operating temperatures free of thermal throttling.

The Liqtech XTR series will be available in 240mm, 280mm, and 360mm, featuring a real-time status segmented screen. The latter allows you to quickly check the CPU and GPU temperatures or the fan RPM directly on the CPU block. While not as fancy as LCDs and OLEDs, this solution is all that you need on a workstation machine. There’s even an alert system in case no one notices the rig overheating.

The cooler was demonstrated on an Intel Xeon w9-3495X workstation CPU packing 56 cores. Under a Cinebench test load, the Liqtech XTR managed to keep this beast under control, even though the latter consumed 925W according to the hardware monitoring app. And the best part is that the CPU reached its power limit before hitting the thermal throttling temperature, maxing at 86°C.

But wait, there is more. On an AMD Threadripper system, the Liqtech XTR outdid itself, taming just shy of 1kW. This unassuming AIO managed to cool a CPU consuming 989W. By unassuming we mean, it’s just a regular-looking 360mm all-in-one. One may expect at least a 420mm or some industrial water chiller – wink wink – for such performance.

CPU power consumption.

Workstation and server processors have a much larger integrated heat spreader (IHS) and a sizeable contact area to better use the cooler’s cold plate more evenly. But still, you need to dissipate that heat to the environment, a task the Liqtech XTR seems to manage quite well since it maintained a reasonable temperature under a 925W load.

The Liqtech XTR is fully compatible with AMD’s latest sTR5 socket (Threadripper 7980X) and Intel LGA 4677 (Xeon W-3400/W-2400). Enermax hasn’t shared any pricing yet for either model, only indicating that the highest performance 360mm solution will be available in Q3.
