EnermaxK8 chassis marries aesthetics and cooling in a tidy package

Enermax has released the K8 mid-tower case, offering wide compatibility behind multiple glass panels without forgetting about cooling. Available in black and white, the K8 series is a nice alternative for those who prioritise aesthetics.

Measuring 467mm (D) x 220mm (W) x 491mm (H), the K8 chassis features a sleek look that opts for glass side and front panels. However, that doesn’t mean cooling is thrown out the window. While the front panel doesn’t seem to have many vents, your hardware should get enough air from the bottom intakes, which are covered by a removable dust filter.

That said, Enermax should offer a mesh front option for those preferring a more breathable chassis. The last thing you want is a hot box for your expensive RTX 4090. This could be just a half-mesh panel that keeps the solid trapezium section.

Inside you will find room for ATX / Micro-ATX / Mini-ITX motherboards, 390mm-long graphics cards, 170mm-tall CPU coolers, two 3.5in/2.5in drives, and ATX-type PSUs – enough for the brand’s dual-standard PlatiGemini series.

Behind the front glass panel sits a removable bracket supporting up to three 120mm fans or a 360mm radiator – greatly simplifying the installation. There is also room for another 240mm radiator on the top if you are going full-on liquid cooling.

Regarding case I/O, all ports are located on the top and include one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, plus two 3.5mm headset jacks.

The K8 comes bundled with three pre-installed ARGB fans connected to a built-in six-port control hub. These can be seamlessly synchronised with other components through your motherboard’s ARGB software. Otherwise, you can simply settle for one of the 21 built-in lighting effects. In total, the chassis supports up to seven 120mm fans, five of which can be swapped for 140mm blowers.

The EnermaxK8 chassis is found at Alternate for €119.90. As part of its launch campaign – exclusive to the European market – you can also grab the brand’s Liqmaxflo 360mm AIO liquid cooler at a discounted price.
