Eniola Ajao Reacts As Court Sends Bobrisky To Male Prison Weeks After Awarding Him ‘Best Dressed Female’

Nollywood producer and actress, Eniola Ajao who awarded the ‘Best Dressed Female’ title to Bobrisky, has reacted to the crossdresser’s prison sentence.

It may be recalled that in March, the filmmaker sparked controversy after declaring Bobrisky winner of the fashion programme at at the premiere of her movie, ‘Ajakaju’.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos, sentenced Bobrisky on Friday, to six months in jail without the option of a fine.

This is also as a mild drama ensued in court when the popular crossdresser told the Judge that he identifies as a male, after which he was sent to the male section of the NCS custodial facility.

Reacting to the court judgment via her Instagram story, Ajao said Bobrisky shouldn’t be going through his current ordeal.

The Nollywood filmmaker noted that she is keeping him in her thoughts and prayers as he had been very supportive during her own travail.

She wrote: “My thoughts and prayers are with Bobrisky. He has been very supportive. He should not be going through any issue as a result of the movie. Maybe I should not title the sequel of #ajakajuthemovie, @ajakajumovie Ajakaju.

The gbas-gbos since the premiere and the cinema runs started are on another level; it is another Nollywood story on its own. I pray Bobrisky (Mummy of Lagos) gets home safely. Please EFCC, help us. We have learned our lessons; we will do better and stop spraying money. We will only do transfers.”

CorrectNG reports that the Nigeria Correctional Service, NCS promised to ensure that Bobrisky is protected from sexual assault while incarcerated.

Nigerian media personality, Denola Grey also stated that the six months jail-term slammed on famous crossdresser Bobrisky’s is unfair.

He opined that the court’s decision to sentence Bobrisky to prison without the option of fine has nothing to do with the naira abuse he was arraigned for.

Taking to his Twitter page on Friday, Grey said there is more to the sentence than meets the eye and he was being used as a “scapegoat.”

He wrote: “We all know this isn’t about spraying [Naira]. They are scapegoating her and using this BS as a reason. I hate bullies. Unfortunately, this country is full of them.”
