Euston trains cancelled after major disruption due to ‘incident’ today | UK News

Commuters are facing serious disruptions after someone was hit and killed by a train forcing Euston to cancel journeys.

The person was struck on the tracks between Watford Junction and Bushey stations.

All mainline services, including to and from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool, have been suspended in and out of Euston Station.

National Rail said: ‘Emergency services dealing with an incident between Watford Junction and Bushey means trains running between Watford Junction and London Euston these stations may be severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.’

They added the disruptions are expected to last until 10am.

British Transport Police said: ‘Officers were called to the line near Watford Junction railway station at 6.04am today to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

‘Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to their death.’



Which routes have been affected by Euston train cancellations?

Avanti West Coast between Blackpool North/Edinburgh/Liverpool Lime Street/Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston

London Northwestern Railway between Birmingham New Street/Coventry/Bletchley/Milton Keynes Central and London Euston

Southern between Watford Junction and Clapham Junction/East Croydon

Euston Station wrote on X: ‘Mainline services are suspended in and out of Euston. This is due to the emergency services attending an incident.

‘Disruption is likely to last into the morning.’

A number of severe delays have also been reported across Transport for London.
