Recall that Baba Rex’s colleague, Junior Pope, had lost his life after drowning at Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie set on April 8th.

The actor was finally laid to rest amidst years in his hometown in Ukehe, Enugu State, in May with the likes of Destiny Etiko, KCee, E-Money, Zubby Michael, Benson Okonkwo, Chinwe Owoh, Rita Edochie, Uche Nnanna, Queen Wokoma, Ruby Ojiakor and more in attendance.

Following the death, the Actors Guild of Nigeria had banned any actor or movie producer/director from shooting a movie near riverine areas and had also suspended the use of boats in movies.

Many celebrities had weighed in on the actor’s noting how it could have been avoided if Nollywood had a better structure.

Yvonne Jegede noted how his death could have been avoided if only he had worn a life jacket or if Nollywood producers had done better. She further read the riot act to movie producers, telling them to do better and to give up being a producer if they can’t produce a good film.

Ini Edo, made a similar statement, slamming the poor structure of the industry that has taken a toll on them. She lamented the actor’s death which she called a sacrifice for the realization of the need of the much needed regulation and structure that would safeguard an entire production.

Upcoming actress, Sarah Martins had dragged Adanma, noting how her recklessness had cost her the lives of people. She described the actress’ movie as a low-budget movie trying to raise local standards without providing the necessary amenities.
