If you’re suddenly invested in Fallout 4, after watching the TV show, an upcoming mod set in Miami might be the next best option before Fallout 5.

Fallout 4 has seen a surge of players thanks to Amazon’s TV series and some steep discounts, but the best reason to stick around might be what’s cooking in the modding scene.

Originally announced six years ago, as a continuation of the Sole Survivor’s story, Fallout: Miami is described as a ‘DLC-sized mod’ for Fallout 4 which is ‘comparable to an official expansion’ – with a new main quest, side quests, characters, equipment, and settlements.

The ambitious project has received a new trailer that showcases the recreation of Miami under a post-apocalyptic lens, which you can check out below.

The Fallout: Miami mod is being developed by a small team of amateur designers and artists, with the team recruiting for additional volunteers to help bring it all to life.

There’s no indication as to when the mod will be released, but it certainly looks impressive with sun-soaked beaches amid the grimy, wrecked architecture.

This isn’t the only huge mod in the works for Fallout 4. The team at Folon are currently working on Fallout: London, which wasindefinitely delayed due to Bethesda’s recent Fallout 4 next gen update.

In an interview with the BBC, project lead Dean Carter said Bethesda gave the team of modders no warning before announcing the update’s release date, which he says ‘has, for a lack of a better term, screwed us over’.

Fallout: London was originally scheduled to be released on April 23 before the delay, with the Fallout 4 next gen update having launched on Thursday, April 25.

It seems like Bethesda’s update might not have been worth the wait either, with some players struggling to notice the difference.

As for the next Fallout, Bethesda recently said its main ‘focus’ is The Elder Scrolls 6 before Fallout 5 – which means it will be many years away yet.
