Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has urged citizens to pay more attention to their mental health, particularly at the workplace.
She stated this in her message on Thursday as Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate the World Mental Health Day.
Speaking on this year’s theme, “It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace,” she emphasized the importance of addressing mental well-being amid rising dissatisfaction in professional environments.
She urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, offer love and support to one another, promote early medical intervention and counselling so as to reduce mental health issues within and outside the workplace.
“With love and support, mental health issues will be drastically reduced within and outside the work place,” she said.
The First Lady also appealed to citizens to be their “brother’s keeper,” promoting mental health awareness for a safer and healthier society.
