George Knight (Colin Salmon) has had a rough time of it in EastEnders recently, but things got even worse in Monday night’s (May 6) episode.
Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) was left devastated last week when she finally got in contact with granddad Eddie, and discovered that he had already held Gloria’s funeral.
Gloria had died in George’s arms only weeks before, and George was left furious when Eddie banned him from the funeral, and grew more determined to attend in spite of his father’s warnings.
When George made it clear that he wasn’t going to give up until he found out more information about the funeral, Anna and Gina (Francesca Henry) realised that they had to tell him the tragic news sooner rather than later.
As Anna informed him that the funeral had been held last week, George took himself off to grieve alone.
However, it didn’t take him long to fall back to his usual unhealthy coping mechanism, as he contacted Rufus to organise another fight for him at the underground boxing ring.
George was previously caught releasing his emotions in the ring by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), who warned him that he was out of his depth.

Unfortunately, they are set to be proved right in upcoming scenes when George grows dizzy and almost collapses the day after his fight.
When George is rushed to hospital, he is informed that he has a serious brain condition as a result of his boxing history, and that one bad knock could be enough to kill him.
However, with everything going on in his life, this news doesn’t stop him from organising another fight, despite his family’s concerns.
Could he be set to lose his life as he takes to the ring once more?
