Gigabyte has announced the B650E Aorus Pro X motherboard featuring the latest connectivity options alongside a reinforced PCIe slot. An ideal mid-range choice for upcoming Zen 5 processors.
The B650E Aorus Pro X comes equipped with dual native USB4 ports providing up to 40Gbps of transfer speed each regardless of your processor. According to Gigabyte, you can fully use the 40Gbps bandwidth for data transferring, unlike Thunderbolt 4 which shares it between data and video. Additionally, B650E Aorus Pro X supports the latest wireless connectivity in the form of Wi-Fi 7 and a high-gain antenna, ensuring fast and reliable connections using the 2.4GHz, 5Ghz, and the new 6GHz bands. The latter could come clutch in residential zones filled with Wi-Fi waves.
Those who like their trusty CAT 6 cables can still use the 2.5GbE LAN port for an uninterrupted and fast connection. Perfect to access those local NAS drives without delay. The board also features an armoured PCIe x16 slot, ready to carry the best graphics cards no matter their size. But that’s not all, the board also features an EZ-Debug Zone segmented display and a PCIe EZ-Latch Plus. The first helps you diagnose any issues with the machine, whereas the latter allows to you remove the graphics card with ease.
Lastly, the B650E Aorus Pro X powers your Ryzen CPU using 16-phase all-digital system made from 80A SPS phases. These, alongside the M.2 SSD slot, are covered by an enlarged heatsink to ensure proper cooling under all workloads.
If you think you don’t need Wi-Fi 7 or USB4, let me tell you a story. Last month, Meta Quest 2 was on sale, so I picked one up to see all the fuss about VR. However, to use it on PC wirelessly, I needed a fast and stable Wi-Fi connection – preferably 1Gbps using the 5GHz band. Unfortunately, as many know, the routers offered by ISPs are generally bad, barely capable of doing their job. Mine wasn’t any good, maxing out at a Stone Age Wi-Fi 4. In other words, no wireless PC VR for me. Then, I remembered that my motherboard had Wi-Fi 6E, which is both super-fast and integrated into the PC, meaning no added latency from passing via the router. All this is to say that unless your budget doesn’t allow or you know for sure you won’t need this kind of feature, there is no harm in having a full and modern package. You never know when you will need USB4 for video output or Bluetooth for wireless audio.
The B650E Aorus Pro X motherboard will be available in early June, ready for upcoming next-gen AM5 CPUs.
