I know, I know. Plonking the best CPU into your rig can give your system a new lease of life. However, in my experience, most setups are in dire need of a new screen more than anything. Fortunately for you PC enthusiasts, there’s a fantastic 34in ultrawide OLED that’s come crashing down in price.

It’s hard to believe OLED used to be locked behind £1,000 price tags, now that they’re near half that. Alienware AW3423DWF is up there with the finest, now fitted with 30% off at just £649.99. Usually, buying directly from Dell is a bit cheaper, but Amazon UK price matches, so you get all the benefits of the big retailer. Not bad if you’re a Prime member who benefits from next-day deliveries.

Folks across the Atlantic can grab 17% off the same model on Amazon US, bringing it down to $908.97. Europe isn’t quite as fortunate, as Germany is the only country I’ve spotted an 8% discount at €992.55. Clicking on the link below will take you to your country so you can check for yourself.

“The world’s first QD-OLED gaming monitor is still great in 2024. Featuring infinite contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 for remarkably vivid colours, visuals truly burst to life.”

Much like standard OLED, this panel comes with a 0.03ms response time, infinite contrast ratio, and VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 for deep blacks. The QD, or Quantum Dot, part of it separates it from the pack with an extra blue layer that improves colour and brightness. I’ve also found it handles automatic dimming and variable refresh rate (VRR) flicker much better than LG’s early screens.

Based on Samsung’s first-generation QD-OLED panels, this 34in ultrawide sports a comfortable 3440×1440 resolution at 165Hz refresh rate. You shouldn’t need the best graphics card to make the most of it. The 1,800R curve should immerse you in the world and keep your peepers from straining, but it’s gentle enough not to take any adjustment.

My final lot of praise is for the robust KVM switch, which elevates it above most displays. With four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, you can route your peripherals through for better cable management and easy access. It’s a small point but one that, for me, makes it one of the best gaming monitors around.

Price-wise, there isn’t much that comes close to this right now. Thankfully, you don’t need to take my word for it, either. Being on Amazon, you get a superb 30-day money-back guarantee that lets you get a refund within a month if it doesn’t meet your expectations.
