Amazon Spring Deal Days is here, and the sales are much more eye-catching than the name. AMD Ryzen 5 5600X has plummeted to the cheapest we’ve ever seen it, making it an absolute steal. Whether you’re in the market for an upgrade from Ryzen 5 3600 or just want something efficient as a secondary rig, there isn’t better value out there.

Looking at AMD Ryzen 5 5600X on Amazon UK, the CPU sports a whopping 53% discount. At £130.60, it’s the lowest we’ve seen it, leaving you ample room to grab a good AM4 motherboard. 7% off on Amazon US doesn’t quite have the same wow factor, but $144 is a similarly slender price tag.

As a mid-range powerhouse from the last generation, you’re likely looking at 1080p or 1440p gaming. The six cores and 12 threads still handle anything you throw at them, scoring 10,000+ in Cinebench R23’s multi-core test. A winning combination of a 3.7GHz base clock, 4.6GHz boost, and 32MB of L3 cache positions this as a brilliant CPU for a little over £100.

Keeping costs low, AMD packs a Wraith Stealth cooler in the box. It’s not as flashy as, say, an Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420, but it does what it says on the tin: cools and keeps quiet. You don’t need anything fancy, given 5600X is conservative with a 65W TDP.

We didn’t take a look at 5600X, but our AMD Ryzen 5 5600 review already positioned its little brother as a great value CPU. Now, imagine what a bargain the beefier X version is with these new discounts.

Motherboards start as cheap as $60 / £50, but it’s worth taking a look at the AM4 offers on Amazon. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little extra for features like WiFi, more M.2 SSD slots, and better connectivity. DDR4 RAM shouldn’t set you back too much, either, starting under $20 / £20.

Personally, I recommend you try them all out for yourself. Amazon has a 30-day return window where you can send everything back for a refund, no questions asked.

In the meantime, keep an eye on our deals page. We’ll be covering a whole lot more of Amazon’s Spring sale, which lasts until March 25. Follow us on Twitter or Facebook or subscribe to our free weekly newsletter and we’ll even send the best of the best right to you.
