half-price Intel Core i5-14400F is at its cheapest

Intel isn’t waiting for its Arrow Lake CPUs to roll around before discounting its current Raptor Lake line-up. While Intel Core i5-14400F is already one of the best-value processors on the market, a new deal sees the budget powerhouse plummeting to its lowest price yet.

Amazon UK currently offers the chip at a 49% price cut, halving the cost to just £140. Not only is this the cheapest the silicon has ever been, it’s the first time we’ve seen it drop below £150.

The same model costs €203.57 in Europe, offering up to 7% off in France and Germany. Head across the Atlantic, and you’ll see a similar discount, bringing the processor down to $183.02. You should check your region by clicking the pink button below, but in every case, we’ve not seen better prices.

It’s important not to underestimate this humble i5. Granted, it’s quite similar to its 13th Gen predecessor with six performance cores, four efficient cores (6P+4E), and 16 threads, but it’s quicker on its feet with a 4.7GHz boost.

As an F model, you’ll need to make sure you pair it with the best graphics card, as it can’t handle its own visuals. However, removing the iGPU does make it a decent amount more efficient, respecting the rising energy prices across the globe. Besides, gaming on integrated graphics never offers the same experience as a discrete alternative.

Handily, 14400F also supports both DDR4 and DDR5 RAM. This will entirely depend on which motherboard you choose, but I’d recommend sticking with DDR5 simply because you can slot the later standard into future upgrades without much issue.

Since this deal is on Amazon, you have two reasons to try it out. First, the retailer offers a 30-day return window, allowing you to send the chip back for a refund if you’re not happy. Second, Prime members can get the processor the very next day in certain countries. This applies to the UK, but there is a small waiting period for folks across the pond.
