One of the most memorable moments in Happy Gilmore is when a homeless man, Otto, becomes Happy’s caddie during his tour and later becomes his biggest supporter and best friend. Unfortunately, even though Otto is such an important character in Happy’s story, the movie does not mention his name. Played by Allen Covert, who has been a frequent collaborator with Adam Sandler in films like Anger Management and 50 First Dates, Otto only gets mentioned in Happy Gilmore‘s end credits.
A cut scene from the movie even confirmed that Otto’s name was supposed to be mentioned in the overarching story but did not make it to the film’s final cut. Although Happy Gilmore 2‘s plot details remain unknown, it seems likely that it will continue the titular character’s hilarious journey as a golfer.
