Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of writing up a review on MSI’s MAG 274QRF QD E2. The boilerplate specs for this display include a 27in IPS panel with quantum dots, with a native resolution of 2560×1400 and 180Hz refresh rate. It came out swinging with excellent colour accuracy in our tests, with an average delta-e of 0.93, while also covering 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Suffice to say, games and other content look and feel fabulous on this screen.
The positives continue with excellent peak brightness of 478nits, making it ideal for spaces both bright and dim. All this performance will only set you back pennies instead of pounds on your leccy bill too, with a meagre power consumption footprint of just 32W by our measurements.
This monitor was a great deal at its RRP of £349.00, but it’s an absolute steal at £217.54. That’s a generous saving of £131.46 (38%), giving you all the more cash to spend on other deals like an AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor.

For those with their sights on screens of spectacular size, look no further than Aorus CO49DQ. This gargantuan monitor isn’t for the faint of heart, demanding a big chunk of space to fit into your gaming setup. If you can find room for it, though, there are few other displays like it.

Speaking from experience, it’s difficult to return to a 16:9 aspect ratio display once you’ve experienced gaming at 21:9 or, in this case 32:9. The increased field of view is particularly perfect for first-person simulator games, allowing the colossal cloudscapes of Flight Simulator or tarmac tracks of racing games to fill up your field of view and then some. However, CO49DQ is great with open-world titles like The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2, compatibility with its expansive resolution willing. Most modern games will acclimate without a problem, but it is a quirk you need to prepare for with super ultrawides.
Putting in the work for the above is all the more worth it though given the panel it packs. All put together, you have 49inches of QD-OLED goodness to gawp at, running at 5120×1440 and 144Hz. To put it another way, that’s effectively two QHD monitors in one. Wherever you look on this dazzling display, though, inky blacks and excellent colour accuracy make for a wicked treat for the eyes. Of course, these qualities and its aspect ratio make it an awesome options for films too, giving you a cinema screen of sorts on your desk.
