Holly Willoughby appears to have made a cheeky dig at Phillip Schofield with her cryptic Halloween post.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Cast Away star, 64, has nicknamed the 43-year-old presenter ‘the witch’ since he left This Morning after lying about an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague.

On Thursday, Willoughby shared an older catwalk photo of Kate Moss dressed as a witch in the 1990s.

‘Happy Halloween,’ she captioned the picture, while Lana Del Rey hit Season of the Witch was added to the post.

In another post, Willoughby shared a meme of Carlton Banks (Alfonso Ribeiro) from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air dancing in a house filled with Christmas decorations.

‘Me as soon as the last trick or treater leaves,’ reads the caption on the original post, while she added: ‘Also me…’

Despite the alleged nickname, it was previously claimed Willoughby ‘isn’t batting an eyelid’ and is remaining dignified over reports of her former friend and ITV co-star’s brutal nickname for her.

‘Holly isn’t batting an eyelid at this, it’s like she couldn’t care less,’ a source told The Sun. ‘Phil is coming across as incredibly bitter.

‘Holly knows who her friends are and they’re the people she pays attention to.’

It was previously alleged that Schofield sent Willoughby a WhatsApp message claiming she ‘had brought him down’ after his TV work dried up following the This Morning scandal.

He also reportedly said he ‘couldn’t believe his TV sister would do this to him’ as he apparently scolded her for now showing public support after rumours of a rift between them.

‘He feels it was a simple gesture that might have saved his job and her refusal to do so effectively finished him off. Believing in the TV chemistry was the bedrock of the This Morning format,’ a friend told The Mirror.

A few weeks ago, Schofield returned to television for the time time in 16 months with three episodes of Channel 5 show Cast Away, which saw him stranded on a deserted island off the coast of Madagascar for 10 days.

He and his family mocked Willoughby in the show, as they made a dig at her statement when she returned to This Morning and addressed her co-host’s exit.

At the time she went viral for asking viewers ‘are you ok?’, and in Cast Away Schofield, his wife Stephanie Lowe and their two children Molly and Ruby cackled around the dinner table as he repeated Willoughby’s unfortunate catchphrase: ‘Are you ok?’

Willoughby has kept a dignified silence about her feelings towards Schofield since his TV comeback, which was branded a ‘car crash’ and was a ratings flop, losing a third of its audience between the first and third episode.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Willoughby’s representatives for comment.
