Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Friday’s (June 7) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Monday June 10 at 7pm.

Grace Black (Tamara Wall) was left sobbing after tying the knot with Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) and the tears in question certainly weren’t happy ones, with the jailed convict feeling utterly betrayed by her new beau.

Freddie, as viewers know, has been on a mission to obtain Fraser Black’s secret fortune as part of a wider plan to break Grace out of prison on their wedding day, with the two intent on absconding with kids Lexi and Curtis for a new life.

Grace, who was sent to prison last year for her role in a heist, was looking forward to tasting freedom and reuniting with her son – and was desperate to ensure the plan went off without a hitch.

Freddie, meanwhile, was keen to make Grace’s dreams a reality but his desperation saw him resort to some new lows, including heinously attacking Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) to get dirt on Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) in regards to where Fraser’s money is.

The realisation that he wasn’t setting a good example for daughter Lexi finally set in during Friday’s first look offering of the show, with Robbie (Charlie Wernham) pleading with him to not take Lexi abroad, telling him that he’ll be putting his own feelings above those of his daughter.

The statement left Freddie with food for thought.

Grace, meanwhile, was escorted out of prison and to the registry office, excited for her new chapter as she looked iconic in her wedding outfit.

After exchanging vows with Freddie, she kissed her new groom before making a beeline for the ring cushion which Lexi was holding. The item in question, as fans found out earlier in the week, was meant to have a gun hidden inside.

Freddie, however, had a change of heart based on what Robbie had said to him and thus was unwilling to make his beloved daughter carry a deadly weapon.

The realisation dawned on Grace as Freddie delivered his vows, informing her that he’s going to do things right from now on – and that he’ll wait for her no matter how long it takes.

Working out that he had replaced the cushions, Grace burst into tears, yelling that she simply cannot go back to prison as she had promised Curtis that they would be reunited.

After hitting Freddie numerous times and causing quite the spectacle for those in attendance, the gangster knocked over some floors and picked up a sharp object from the wreckage, ordering everyone to stay back.

Refusing to break her promise to Curtis, she impaled herself using the weapon, much to the horror of those in attendance. Grace lost consciousness and collapsed to the floor.

Will she be okay?
