How To Sign Out Of Netflix On All Devices, From Your Smart TV To Your Tablet

Now that Netflix is cracking down on account-sharing, it’s never been a better time to learn exactly how to sign out of a Netflix account on TV, tablet, or whatever else is being used to watch the streaming app. Netflix has gone through some ups and downs in recent months and even some loyal users have been canceling the streaming platform. However, the streamer is still one of the oldest in the game and Netflix still boasts a comparatively high number of subscribers to its competitors.

However, just because the streaming platform offers a high library of original and curated movies and TV shows, doesn’t mean users will constantly want to be signed in. With Netflix’s new account-sharing policy up and running, many people are probably wondering how they can sign out of a Netflix account. Whether it’s a TV at their parent’s house, one they gave a friend, or simply because they only want one TV in their residence to be the “Netflix” viewing area, there are simple steps to sign out of whatever screen a user is logged into.

How To Sign Out Of Netflix On Your Smart TV

In order to sign out of Netflix on a smart TV like LG, Sony, Samsung, and others, users should go to their home screen, or wherever they usually go to click through their apps. Sometimes this works by simply turning on the TV, but clicking the “home” button (which could be a picture of a house) on the remote should also work. Clicking the “back” or “return” button on the remote until the screen does not change should also eventually get a user to the home screen.

“Exit” and “Reload” are not the same as signing out. They simply let the user leave the app and return to the home screen, or whichever previous screen was on.

Find Netflix on the home screen, and click it. From the app, users can go to “Account Settings”, which is at the top of the screen next to an icon of a magnifying glass (the search icon). The account settings icon looks like a gear or a cog. Select the account settings icon, and look through the options with the remote to get to “Sign Out”. Click it, and the user should be signed out of the Netflix account.

How To Sign Out Of Netflix On Your Phone Or Tablet

Signing out of Netflix on a phone or tablet is very similar to doing so on a smart TV. All one needs to do is find the Netflix app wherever it’s located. It’s black with a large, red, capital “N” on it. Click the app and wait for it to load. Once it’s done loading, find the “My Netflix” button on the lower right that looks like a smiley face. Tap it, then tap the menu button in the upper right. It looks like three parallel, horizontal lines. Tap the sign-out button, and tap “sign out” again to confirm.
