Special arrows in Dragon’s Dogma 2 refer to the Explosive, Tarring, Drenching, and Blighting Arrows. Players will find these arrows in chests, as quest rewards, at shops, and as a craftable item through the Combine menu.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Players Found A Way To Unlock Hidden Map Areas With Medieval Weapon
This unassuming weapon has more to it than meets the eye and is also easily missable in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Though the game gives you plenty of these arrows, it remains unclear how, exactly, you’re supposed to use them. Even when you switch to the Archer vocation, it’s not explained.
How Do Special Arrows Work
Special arrows can only be used by unlocking and equipping certain skills for the Archer Vocation. Without having these skills equipped, you won’t be able to make use of arrows like Explosive Arrow and Tarring Arrow.
Archer skills that use special arrows cannot be used without one. So, if you have Erupting Shot equipped on your Archer but you don’t have any Explosive Arrows in your inventory, the skill won’t work.
Every skill in DD2 has a higher variant that becomes available as you rank up the Vocation. All variants of Archer skills that use special arrows only use one arrow per shot.
Buying skills requires Dcp, and new skills only become available by leveling up your Vocation.

How To Use The ‘Unmaking Arrow’
Obtained by solving one of the Sphinx’s riddles, the Unmaking Arrow is unique in that it doesn’t require a skill to function. It’s an incredibly powerful arrow that can kill anything in one hit.
To use it, you’ll need to switch to the Archer or Warfarer Vocation, open your inventory, select the arrow, and click on ‘Use’. This will make your next shot into an Unmaking Shot the next time you shoot. Make it count.
The Archer is arguably the most lackluster Vocation in DD2. If you’re looking for something more exciting, you might find our how to unlock magick archer and how to unlock mystic spearhand vocations a helpful read.
