Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli is basking in the euphoria of her new movie, The Uprising which is making waves in Cinemas across Nigeria.
The actress, who has returned to Canada via her Instagram page, shared a video of herself taking her granddaughter for a stroll; Omoni reintroduced herself as a strong woman, wife, mother, grandmother, filmmaker, and more. She bragged that she made the best movie out of Nigeria without a doubt.
Omoni disclosed that what has given her joy about her movie is the great reviews she has been receiving, especially from her sons, who have a high taste in movies.
“Allow me to reintroduce myself! My name is OMONI OBOLI (OMoney) Strong woman, wife, mother, grandmother, filmmaker, etc, and I made THE BEST MOVIE out of Nigeria without a doubt!
The thing that has given me the most joy about the release of THE UPRISING is that we have no mid-reviews! At this point, if you haven’t gone out to watch it in Nigeria, Canada, the UK, or Francophone Africa, you are missing the most impactful and intriguing movie you’ll see this year. Yes, I said it!
My goodness! My sons couldn’t stop talking when we got home! They said they couldn’t even compare it to other Nollywood movies, so they were comparing it to Hollywood!
My sons were brought up watching movies, and their taste in movies is very high, but for over 2 hours, they dissected THE UPRISING and gave it 10/10. My joy is complete! I am satisfied!
To everyone who has gone out to watch and those going out and still going back to watch with family and friends, God bless you!
I will be at Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan for the 3 pm and 6 pm showing. Come hang out with us.
PS: Naya squealed every time I showed up on screen. She thought I was talking to her”.
Just a few days back, Omoni expressed joy as her movie grossed over N93 million within a week and became the number-one Nollywood film of the weekend. Crediting the new feat to her Maker, she appreciated her best friends and fans for the love, energy, and support as she noted how she couldn’t have done it without you.
Recall that days before her movie premiere, Omoni had called for support as she noted how it had been 5 years since her last Cinema movie, which had left her having butterflies in her stomach and being quite apprehensive.
At her movie premiere, Omoni couldn’t hold back her tears as she received a brand new car from her partners. Sharing a clip of the emotional moment, Omoni stated that it wasn’t just a car but a symbol of her growth, passion, and impact on shaping Nollywood.
Some weeks back, Omoni had tooted her horns, after her 2019 movie, Last Year Single, made waves on Netflix despite it being years since it was released. She noted how her movie was still the number-one show on Netflix in Nigeria.
