Music lovers have gone into meltdown after all four original members of Jane’s Addiction reunited for the first time in years, releasing an epic new song.
The legendary 80s rockers, who first formed the band in 1985, dropped Imminent Redemption last week and have now performed the track for the first time as a four-piece on stage in London.
The group – made up of Stephen Perkins, Perry Farrell, Eric Avery and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Dave Navarro – will now be taking their reunion on the road, embarking on a tour across the US next month.
This marks their first offering with all four original musicians after Eric returned to the fold in 2022, and fans were truly delighted for their comeback.
Below a snippet of their new track, shared on Instagram, many flooded the comments section with praise, thrilled that the four-piece had got back into the studio once more.
Adammars cheered: ‘You had me at Eric Avery bass note.’
Glen_Blackwell agreed: ‘Love it!! More new tracks please!’
‘Phewwww that opening bass line is [fire],’ Zazapunx penned.
As ssh_itskris added: ‘Oh my God I just love it!!!! like all the music there’s not one song I do not like from this band.’
Jane’s Addiction recently ended the European leg of their tour, including sold-out stops in London, Manchester and Glasgow, and they also traveled to Dublin, Paris, Madrid and Hamburg.
Next month, they will be heading to the US with performances in Las Vegas, Houston, New York, Boston and Chicago.
The band first formed with original members Perry, Eric Stephen and Dave in LA in 1985, and they went on to drop a self-titled live album two years later.
In 1988, they debuted their first studio album, Nothing’s Shocking, before following this up with Ritual de lo Habitual in 1990.
They first split the following year and Dave then joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but came back to Jane’s Addiction in 1997.
RHCP drummer Flea briefly replaced Eric, who later returned for a two-year spell in 2008, before announcing his official comeback in 2022.
Alongside a snap of a studio session at the time, he penned on Instagram: ‘Today marks the end of our current sessions. Four promising new song ideas. Big thanks to you all for all the kind words of support. It leaves me feeling inspired. Honestly.
‘It produces the best kind of pressure, your passion leaves me determined to do all I can for Jane’s Addiction.’
The group issued a joint statement to celebrate their return, which read: ‘It is different this time. To have everyone back together, releasing new music. It’s time.
‘Welcome to the next chapter of Jane’s Addiction. Imminent Redemption is only the beginning.’
