Lene Nystrom, the face and voice of the 90s hit song Barbie Girl, seems to have discovered the fountain of youth.

Nearly three decades after Aqua’s infectious Eurodance track took the world by storm, the now 50-year-old singer looks almost unchanged.

Active on social media, Nystrom regularly shares glimpses of her life and work, showcasing her timeless beauty.

Despite the years, the Norwegian singer and mother-of-two remains as fresh-faced as ever.

In a recent video, Nystrom offered a peek behind the scenes as she prepared for a shoot.

Reflecting on her image, she remarked, ‘Clothing gives me strength, if I feel sexy then I feel strong. If it’s too girly… I feel sexier if it’s a bit rough.’

Nystrom’s journey to pop stardom began as a teenage model before she switched to singing, eventually landing a gig on a Norwegian cruise ship.

It was there that Danish music producer and DJ Rene Dif discovered her, inviting her to join his band Joyspeed, which was later renamed Aqua.

The group, launched in Copenhagen in 1995, achieved global success with their iconic song Barbie Girl.

Throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, Aqua released three albums- Aquarium in 1997, Aquarius in 2000, and Megalomania in 2011 – selling an estimated 33million albums and singles worldwide. This success made them the most profitable Danish band ever.

After Aqua’s initial breakup, Nystrom pursued a solo career, releasing the 2004 single Pretty Young Thing and writing several songs for Girls Aloud, including their breakout hit No Good Advice.

Despite the ups and downs of her career and personal life, Lene Nystrom’s enduring beauty and charisma continue to shine.
