The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) at the weekend got a new helmsman with the former Director of Procurement; Ben Iloanusi assuming office as the new Acting Managing Director of the country’s premier rail management body.
Iloanusi has been at the helm of affairs of procurement since 2019 and has taken over from the outgoing Managing Director, Mr. Fidet Okhiria who completed his two terms of four years on Friday 18th October.
An electronic statement by NRC Deputy Director of Public Relations, Yakub Mahmood disclosed that Iloanusi, the most senior executive director in the organisation has since assumed office as acting MD.
The new NRC Managing Director is a graduate of Political Science from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from South Bank University in London, United Kingdom.
Mahmood noted that Okhiria expressed gratitude to the entire NRC team for their support during his time as managing director and urged staff to extend the same cooperation and understanding to his successor.
Responding, Iloanusi called for support from NRC staff and welcomed constructive criticism to help advance the organisation.
He expressed his commitment to leading the corporation effectively during this transition period.
