One Star Wars cosplayer celebrated ‘Revenge of the Fifth’ perfectly with their incredible Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith cosplay of burnt Anakin Skywalker. Revenge of the Sith is largely considered one of Star Wars’ best movies, and Anakin was not only one of Star Wars’ most powerful Jedi but also became one of Star Wars’ most powerful Sith as Darth Vader. Indeed, Revenge of the Sith and Anakin Skywalker both stand out among Star Wars movies and TV shows, but one Star Wars cosplay went above and beyond in recreating one of the movie’s most iconic scenes.

The unbelievable cosplay, posted by SharpShotEFX on Reddit, depicts Anakin Skywalker as he was after his battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, burnt nearly to death and missing most of his limbs. Of the stunning cosplay, the creator explained:

“All the burn textures on the body is done with latex, tissue, and cheesecloth, my legs have what’s basically a facade that ends in stumps made from upholstery foam, the right arm is made from plastic scraps and sports guards for the robot arm, and my left arm is hidden behind my back with a pool noodle attached to my shoulder for the stump.”

This cosplay really does capture Anakin’s look in the movie and is a shocking reminder of what was really underneath Darth Vader’s iconic suit.

Hayden Christensen’s 10 Best Lines As Anakin Skywalker And Darth Vader

Of all Hayden Christensen’s incredible lines as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader throughout his Star Wars appearances, these 10 are the very best.

Darth Vader’s Power Is Even More Impressive After Mustafar

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader

Darth Vader’s power was nearly unmatched in Star Wars, which makes it all the more difficult to remember that after his epic battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, Anakin/Darth Vader was functioning in a severely diminished capacity. Not only did Obi-Wan dismember Anakin, leaving only his already robotic hand intact, but he also left him with severe burns, all of which required him to wear a suit that breathed for him, caused him daily pain, and limited his mobility. This makes his incredible power throughout the Dark Times and in the original Star Wars trilogy all the more impressive.

While Anakin may have been the one spoken of in the Chosen One prophecy, even his power couldn’t be sustained in such a condition. In fact, Vader had to re-learn many of the most fundamental skills of a Force-user after he was confined to his suit, including wielding a lightsaber in what was essentially an entirely new body. Ironically, this meant that, despite Anakin’s turn toward the dark side of the Force being driven by a desire for more power, arguably, that fall prevented him from ever achieving his prime.

Even so, this makes Vader’s strength and abilities throughout the Dark Times all the more impressive. Despite the limitations both his considerable injuries and his new suit imposed on him, Vader rose to incredible power alongside Emperor Palpatine, eventually overthrowing even him. More recent Star Wars projects such as Obi-Wan Kenobi have also shown that Vader acquired those skills well before A New Hope. While the incredible Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith cosplay perfectly depicted a burnt Anakin Skywalker, it was also a reminder of the power of one of Star Wars’ greatest villains.
