Intel Core Ultra 200V is bringing the fight to AMD’s Ryzen AI 300

Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake processors reportedly deliver high scores in Time Spy. This puts them in the ballpark of AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 while consuming less power.

According to Jaykihn0 on x.com, who shared some benchmark scores of a Lunar Lake chip, the iGPU inside Intel’s Core Ultra 200V processors reached 4,154 points in Time Spy’s graphics benchmark while operating at 30W. The best part is that even when moving to a lower 17W power budget, the GPU managed to claim 3,438 points. A 17% drop in performance for 43% more efficiency is impressive, especially when you take into account that the LPDDR5X-8533 chips are soldered on the package, sharing their power.

Intel will definitely need this efficiency level to fight AMD’s Strix Point APUs. According to Golden Pig Upgrade, the latter netted 3,500 points in Time Spy at 15W and over 4,000 points at 54W. That’s an even greater trade-off than Team Blue, showing just how green AMD’s contender is.

While we don’t know the exact configuration of the iGPU, Core Ultra 200V only features two variants: Arc 130V with seven Xe2 cores and Arc 140V with eight Xe2 cores. In other words, even if we’re looking at the results of the best CPU model, the ones below it should still deliver good performance. Part of this performance can be attributed to the on-package DRAM, which boasts high clocks.

Intel Lunar Lake processors will target low-power devices, such as thin and light laptops and handhelds. If these results are correct, we’re in for some nice portable gaming machines next year. It’s important to have a strong showing, too, as these will set the stage for Intel’s next-gen Battlemage desktop graphics cards. So, get ready for some much-needed competition in the low to mid-range.
