ITV reality series Fortune Hotel left fans in a ‘chokehold’ after the latest episode ended with the three finalists hoping to secure the £250,000 prize pot.

The lies, deceit and betrayal reached a new high in the penultimate episode of ITV’s Fortune Hotel which sees couples fight to land the one briefcase stacked with cash by the end of the show.

Wednesday night’s episode saw four couples: Jae and Cherish, Jo-Anne and Will, Aysha and Samm, and Scott and Tommy make and break alliances in order to make sure they made it through to the coveted final tomorrow night.

The episode saw some shocking moments including a challenge in which everyone secretly ranked the couples based on categories such as ‘biggest whinger’,’biggest snake’ and ‘most fun couple’.

Jae and Cherish won the challenge guaranteeing them the final briefcase swap and all but securing their entry into the final.

The end-of-episode briefcase swap came with its own tense moments after Cherish and Jae betrayed their alliance with Samm and Aysha and swapped away their briefcase filled with money, leaving them down on their luck.

But ultimately it was Tommy and Scott who were shown the door, leaving the final three couples to battle it out under the guiding hand of host Stephen Mangan tomorrow night.

Fans are already fiercely divided over who they believe should rise victorious.

Many have already proclaimed Cherish and Jae the best in the game.

‘Cherish and Jae have played a cracking game, so they are my faves,’ @louiseupcycler wrote on X.

‘Fortune Hotel is brilliant – a bit of a slow burner but fun – Cherish & Jae are awesome,’ @mrsshaneyb added.

‘Give Jae and Cherish all the money,’ @ryanjl echoed.

But not everyone is team Cherish and Jae, with some proclaiming their backstabbing ways are simply too hypocritical.

‘Jae & Cherish… the biggest snakes of the game!’ @grumpypandarant wrote.

For those not on the Cherish and Jae bandwagon, they are firmly behind mother-son duo Jo-Anne and Will.

‘The Fortune Hotel have me in a chokehold, team Will and Jo Anne all the way, you started with the money and it’s only right you end up with it. Let’s go,’ @queenbletti said.

As for which couple will snatch the crown and the humungous cheque, only time will tell.

For viewers looking to catch up before the final tomorrow night, here is what to know.

Set in a luxury Caribbean hotel, there are now nine empty briefcases and one stacked with wads of cash ready for one lucky couple to strategically get their hands on before the time is up.

Now the early checkout card, which eliminates one couple every night, is out of the game the stakes are now at their highest. The only way to leave is with the winning case or nothing at all.

The Fortune Hotel continues tomorrow on ITV and ITVX from 9pm.
