Jamie O’Hara has slammed ‘disgrace’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe and has described Manchester United as ‘loserville’ since he came in as minority owner.

The British billionaire and INEOS chief took control of United’s sporting operations in February after buying a 27.7 per cent stake in the club.

United fans, who long expressed their anger at how the Glazer family were running things, were delighted at Ratcliffe’s arrival and felt it would be a new era.

But it hasn’t quite panned out that way thus far and former Premier League star O’Hara, who played for Tottenham, has now decided to take a swipe at Ratcliffe.

O’Hara has criticised Ratcliffe over his cost-cutting mission at Old Trafford – which has seen a number of staff members lose their jobs – as well as his alleged decision to ask Manchester City to use one of their private jets for the Ballon d’Or.

It was reported that United requested a lift on City’s private jet for two of their players – Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo – to attend Monday’s ceremony, which was ultimately turned down.

‘What is he doing?’ O’Hara said on talkSPORT. ‘He’s a disgrace, Ratcliffe. He came in, gave it the big spuds, he’s this billionaire and he’s gonna do this and do that… he’s been a joke!

‘All he’s done is get rid of 200 people, they’ve got to bring their own food in now, now he’s trying to penny pinch on a jet for his Ballon d’Or nominees.

‘Come on mate. Give us a rest, will you? Don’t tell me you’re a billionaire and you’re going to do this and that. It’s a massive loserville, that one.’

It was reported in July that United will cut 250 jobs as part of a determination to slash costs and scrap some ‘non-essential’ activities.

United haven’t enjoyed any improvements on the pitch under Ratcliffe, with the Red Devils enduring a tough start to the 2024-25 season.

Erik ten Hag’s team have only managed to win three of their opening eight Premier League games, putting the Dutchman’s job under significant pressure.

United have also failed to register a victory across their first three Europa League matches of the season.
