Kanye West is being sued by a former employee who claims the star requested him to ‘hire private investigators to tail’ Bianca Censori.
The rapper, 47, secretly married the Yeezy architect, 29, in 2023, shortly after his marriage to Kim Kardashian officially ended.
Since then, the couple have generated plenty of attention for their public antics and increasingly eccentric outfits.
This week rumours started swirling that they’d split, however soon after they put on an amorous display in Tokyo.
But now Kanye’s former ‘director of intelligence’ is taking him to court, and has made some explosive claims about the rapper’s relationships.
The man, identified only as John Doe, was initially hired as Kanye’s campaign manager when he considered another presidential run in December 2022.
However, he said his role soon changed and he was then tasked with ‘limiting West’s risks and bad press’ in a job that saw him conduct investigations and handle NDAs.
He has alleged that Bianca and the Kardashians were the subject of the investigations.
At the request of Kanye, the man claimed he was told to hire private investigators to track Bianca while she was visiting her family in Australia.
The 22-page lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Supreme Court reads, as reported by the Daily Mail: ‘A particularly notable task by Ye was to have Doe hire private investigators to follow and “tail” his wife, Bianca Censori, when she was travelling alone to visit family in Australia, without Ms. Censori’s knowledge.’
He also alleged he had been asked to investigate the Kardashian family for ‘supposed various criminal links’ he believed they had with criminal enterprises, including alleged sex trafficking.
The man also alleges that Kanye lashed out after Doe passed along a report of child abuse at the performer’s school, Donda Academy.
The man has also said that earlier this year, Kanye began exhibiting ‘erratic behaviour’ including spending $850,000 (£650,000) on a set of titanium teeth and sacking a ‘large majority of the Yeezy leadership’.
It came at a time where Kanye was accused of consuming nitrous oxide – which John Doe believes ‘played a role in West’s decision-making’.
His attorney Ronald Zambrano has said the man believes there is a ‘direct correlation between the nitrous oxide and the increase in paranoia and siege mentality that ended up happening in that timeframe that Doe worked for West’.
The lawsuit claims Doe’s employment ended in mid-May when he got a call from a Donda Academy teacher ‘regarding safety concerns they had about some of the students’.
After passing the message on to Yeezy executives, West ‘almost immediately called him to yell curse and threaten him with great bodily injury, including death’ if he repeated what he’d been told.
Kante allegedly told Doe he was ‘f***ing dead to [him]’ and played a recording of ‘scary voices that were threatening to harm’ him.
The man claims his experience working for Kanye affected his mental health, triggering his PTSD from his military service and causing panic attacks and anxiety.
Doe is suing West for emotional distress, retaliation and several violations of California labour codes.
He also claims he is owed unpaid wages from the last several pay periods of his employment.
The man said he was eventually fired after reporting the abuse allegations and raising objections about engaging in unethical or unlawful activities, according to the complaint.
He is seeking restitution of unpaid wages, attorneys’ fees, and general and punitive damages.
Last year, Milo Yiannopoulo – who worked as West’s chief of staff – claimed the rapper was addicted to nitrous oxide and accused his dentist Thomas P Connelly of being ‘aware’ of West’s ‘psychological vulnerabilities’ and sought to exploit them by supplying the gas.
However, a rep for Connelly told TMZ at the time that Yiannopoulo’s allegations are ‘not only factually incorrect but also intentionally misleading.’
