Kensington Palace has released a touching behind-the-scenes video of Kate Middleton’s appearance at Trooping the Colour today.

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, ended weeks of speculation yesterday when she revealed she will attend the parade marking the birthday of King Charles.

In today’s widely anticipated ceremony, Kate travelled via state carriage with her three children to watch hundreds of soldiers and horses march.

Afterwards, Kate and her family were pictured smiling alongside Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, his wife Sophie and their daughter Louise.

And, of course, they were joined by Kate and William’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to watch the RAF fly past.

As this is Britain, however, for a fair few hours the wet weather cast doubt on whether the Red Arrows would take off – but by 1pm, it was crystal blue skies above Buckingham Palace.

Now Kensington Palace has released a short video showing Kate preparing for Trooping the Colour.

It shows the mum adjusting Charlotte’s hair as they greet the Glass State Coach set to take them off to Buckingham Palace.

‘All set for The King’s Birthday Parade!’ the palace said in a post on X.

One user replied: ‘Great to see you back. The country has missed you.’

This is Kate’s first official public appearance since last Christmas Day, though she stressed that today does not represent her return to public life.

‘I am not out of the woods yet,’ she wrote.

‘I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty.

‘Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal.’
