Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi state Monday flagged off the construction of a rural road project starting from off Yauri Highway – Hundeji Town in Shanga local government area at the cost of N518 million.

The project is under the supervision of Kebbi State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

On the occasion, the governor said the commencement of the project was another testimony of a significant milestone in the fulfillment of his campaign promises.

Governor Idris made it clear that his administration would remain focused on providing dividends of democracy to the people of the state for a better life.

He announced that the government would also begin free distribution of fertiliser to farmers Tuesday with the aim of upping the tempo on food production in the state.

“My administration will not in any way sell fertiliser to farmers, but continue to distribute the commodity free as promised,” he said.

Governor Nasir Idris informed the gathering that President Tinubu has approved the revocation of the contract for Koko – Dabai road, saying after necessary documentation, the re- construction of the road would commence.

The governor acknowledged the return of security to Yauri Emirate, assuring the Emir of Yauri of continued support to security agencies to enable farmers till their land optimally for increased production.
