Welcome to Metro’s money blog where today we’re looking ahead to some big changes coming into effect from Tuesday.
Tomorrow is the start of October and we’re going to see some changes to our energy bills – and not just because the temperature is dropping and we’ll be tempted to turn the heating on.
The Ofgem energy price cap is changing tomorrow, meaning bills for most households are set to go up by around 10%.
Speaking of staying warm, the Warm Homes Discount scheme reopens for applications in October, and if successful you could get a decent discount on your energy bills.
Plus, who could forget the autumn Budget. Chancellor Rachel Reeves will be publishing Labour’s Budget next month, which will no doubt impact everyone’s finances for better or for worse.
