Lebanese Red Cross Calls For Blood Donations Amid Israel-Hezbollah War

The Lebanese Red Cross has urgently called for blood donations amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

In an official statement released on its social media platform on Wednesday, the Lebanese Red Cross stressed that blood supplies are dangerously low, especially for critical blood types.

The organization has urged all Lebanese citizens who can donate blood to make their way to the nearest donation centres as soon as possible to ensure that the rising number of injured can receive the life-saving treatments they need.

Following this, the public health emergency operation centre of the Ministry of Public Health issued a statement announcing that within 24 hours of the war, towns and villages in southern Lebanon Nabatieh, Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel and Mount Lebanon have recorded a total of 55 deaths and 156 injured.

In response to the escalating violence, the Lebanese government has issued a nationwide alert urging civilians in the south and other conflict zones to evacuate their homes.

Automated emergency alerts are being sent to residents’ phones, advising them to seek shelter in safer areas.
