Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) sobriety is under threat in EastEnders next week, when Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) returns to Walford intent on destroying the Queen Vic landlady.
As fans of the BBC soap know, Linda confessed to Bernie that she killed her brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) during a showdown at the café back in September.
While it looked like Bernie was set to report Linda and the rest of The Six to the police, she fled to Germany and hasn’t been seen since.
During that time, alcoholic Linda has managed to kick her habit and stay off the booze – despite a terrifying ordeal in The Vic with Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) over Halloween after he discovered The Six’s killer secret.
In scenes to air next week, Linda’s mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) is relieved to see Linda sober and focused on recovery.
However, her positivity is soon destroyed by the news Bernie is back in Walford.
After Bernie heads straight to confront Linda, the killer publican tries to explain about her failed confession, as Bernie rages about Nish taking the rap for Keanu’s murder after the events of Halloween.
A furious Bernie vows that neither of them will ever move on from the events of Christmas, before she sets off to confront both Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) over their roles in Keanu’s death.
With Bernie’s actions having previously forced Linda to drink, will she turn to the bottle once again?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 11 November at 7.30pm and from 6am on iPlayer.
