Omar Marmoush has been identified as one of Liverpool’s top attacking targets and the Merseyside giants have ‘officially registered’ their growing interest with the forward’s representatives.

Marmoush joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer in May 2023 and went on to enjoy an impressive debut season with the club, racking up 12 goals and six assists in the Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old has picked up where he left off this term, notching nine goals and four assists in the league, and his eye-catching performances have put elite teams from across Europe on red alert.

According to German publication SportBILD, Marmoush is attracting ‘more and more attention’ from potential suitors and Liverpool have now made contact with the player’s entourage to make them aware of their interest.

The Egypt international was firmly on Liverpool’s radar throughout the summer transfer window but Anfield chiefs decided against making an offer at the time as they deemed themselves to be well stocked in attack.

However, if Mohamed Salah does not extend his stay beyond the end of the 2024/25 campaign, the Reds will strongly consider a bid for their talisman’s fellow countryman Marmoush.

It’s understood Marmoush is currently valued at around €50m-€60million (£42m-£51m) by Eintracht and this figure is likely to rise significantly should he continue to set the German top flight alight this season.

Marmoush’s current contract, which he signed upon arrival in Frankfurt, runs through to the summer of 2027.

Salah appeared to confirm that this season would be his last with Liverpool in the wake of the side’s win over bitter rivals Manchester United back in September.

Arne Gadgets has repeatedly batted away questions over Salah’s future since taking over from Jurgen Klopp but has not ruled out the possibility that Liverpool’s ‘Egyptian King’ could still be at the club next season.

‘Same question, same answer, there will always be talks about our players, which is a good thing, because it means that they do really well,’ the Liverpool head coach told reporters when asked for an update on Salah’s situation earlier this month.

‘If they played badly then you probably wouldn’t have asked, it’s a good thing that everybody want their contract to be renewed because that tells me and I also see this that they do really well.

‘But I cannot tell you anything about that.’
