Lorraine Kelly’s daughter Rosie Smith has announced she is engaged to her partner Steve White.

Rosie, 29, who is pregnant with their first child, revealed that Steve popped the question during a romantic holiday in Andalusia, Spain.

Her mother was among the first to congratulate her, writing: ‘So happy – it’s such lovely news and I will have a son as well as a granddaughter.’

Alongside a picture of herself at a coastal restaurant flashing her ring, Rosie wrote: ‘There are too many lovely things going on and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself 🤍.

‘Everyone always told me you’ll know when it’s about to happen but I had absolutely no idea, but I have a lifetime to get you back @stevewhite94 💕.

‘The biggest thank you ever to @elizabethmacdonaldjewels for being so sneaky and helping to design the most beautiful ring 💍 Going for a lie down now…’

Speaking previously to Hello! Magazine about the impending arrival in September, the presenter said: ‘This is the most exciting thing to happen to our family, well, since Rosie was born.

‘Last night, I felt the baby kick for the first time, which was extraordinary. It made it feel real.’

The daytime TV icon has no issues with being called ‘granny’ either.

Explaining that being a grandparent is something she always ‘really wanted one day’, Lorraine clarified in OK! that she ‘never wanted to put Rosie under any pressure.’

‘My married name is Smith so I’ll be known as Granny Smith, like the apple!’, she added gleefully.

Rosie announced her pregnancy on Instagram in April with a picture of her growing bump.

The caption read: ‘We could not be more excited – you’re already so loved little one 💕’.

Lorraine shares her only child Rosie with her husband of more than 30 years Steve Smith.

Rosie also works in broadcasting, having studied journalism at Edinburgh Napier University for four years.

In 2023, she joined Jeremy Vine on his Channel 5 show, discussing topical matters.
