Now, Prime Video has released a trailer for Secret Level, an anthology series from the creators of Love, Death & Robots featuring episodic adaptations of a variety of video games.
The trailer reveals plenty of familiar video game worlds, including those of Warhammer 40,000, Dungeons & Dragons, Pac-Man, and Armored Core. How Secret Level Will Bring Video Game Worlds To The Small Screen
Alongside the trailer, Prime Video also confirmed the list of 15 video game universes that would be inspiring different episodes of the show. In addition to the games already mentioned, the other universes set to be explored are Concord, Crossfire, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and various PlayStation titles. This intersection between different gaming worlds hints at the variety Secret Level will bring, potentially rivaling the best anthology series of all time.
Secret Level
was created by Tim Miller and executive produced by Dave Wilson.
The success of recent video game adaptations like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Last of Us TV show indicate a new shift in Hollywood to pull stories from the gaming world. Secret Level is a reflection of this evolution, promising plenty of high-quality stories set in familiar worlds that gamers already know and general audiences can be introduced to. Because of how popular Love, Death & Robots managed to become, chances are high this too ends up being a successful anthology under the creators’ belts.
