Emmerdale’s Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) has got himself into the dark world of unlicenced fighting and now he can’t get himself out. And pal Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is of no help.
Billy dabbled in the illegal boxing to make a few quick quid to help pay the bills in his family’s newly rented house in Holdgate. But now he’s stuck – he needs the money, and the new people he works for think he’s too good to let him leave.
But the last fight he got himself into saw him end up with some nasty wounds needing serious medical attention. Thankfully, John (Oliver Farnworth) was only too happy to patch him up and keep schtum about it. But he may not be so lucky next time.
It was a clear sign though that Billy might not be the fighter he thinks he is, and he’s playing a dangerous game in a very dark underworld.
All in the name of providing a better life for his family, but it might see them end up fighting their own fight without him.
Despite previous outcomes of these illicit matches, Billy is in deep and is not in a position to simply stop. Billy confesses to Mack that he’s signed up for another illegal fight, leaving Mack incredulous, but Billy begs him to keep it to himself.
Mack tells him that not only will he do as his friend has asked of him, he’ll help. This offer, while well intended, could prove fatal for the dad of three.

With Mack’s backing, Billy is encouraged into his next fight and he is more determined than ever to provide a better life for his wife and kids.
If only Mack had just stepped in and stopped him, things might have turned out ok. But now, there’s no good outcome for Billy. Either the fighting will get him
through injury or through disappointing his new employers, or Dawn finds out. Which one will get him first?
